Family and friends said goodbye to a Buechel firefighter and EMT on Sunday. Joe Dosker's funeral was held at St. James Episcopal Church in Pewee Valley. The 29-year-old was killed April 2 after his car crashed into the back of a semi on Buechel Bank Road near the G.E. Appliance Park. Those who knew him best said he was full of life and always had a positive attitude. "He always had a smile on his face. (He was) always looking to have fun," Buechel Fire Department Chief Adam Jones said. "(Dosker) could really bring fun to a crowd at any given time with a little smart comment or just a smile. (He) really lit up a room." Dosker joined the department as a volunteer firefighter in 2017 and was a full-time EMT. He was also a Marine who served several tours in the Middle East.
