Firefighters say they credit a closed door with helping them buy some valuable time fighting a house fire Wednesday. The East Bernstadt Fire Department says the fire broke out in the bedroom. They say someone shut the door to the bedroom, slowing the spread of the fire, which gave them more time to respond and start putting it out. Investigators say one person in the home went to the hospital with minor burns. Firefighters say the cause of the fire has not been determined.
