A Madisonville woman was arrested this evening in connection to a fire that claimed a house off Graves Street. Madisonville Fire and Police departments responded to the 2 p.m. Feb. 14 blaze. Firefighting crews worked to bring the flames under control that appeared to have started in the front of the unoccupied home along the 300 block. Officials previously reported the utilities were turned off at the location. A neighboring resident said at the scene the individual who was living at the residence had recently moved out. "The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point and is being investigated as suspicious in nature," Madisonville Detective C.P. Haynie wrote. No other details were released in relation to the investigation. Theresa E. Bauer, 54, was charged with second-degree arson. She was taken to Hopkins County Jail, where she was listed as being held tonight, pending bond.
