Fairdale woman is facing arson charges after she allegedly set her porch on fire and threw hammers at firefighters as they tried to put out the flames. According to arrest documents, Terry Gardner, 55, set fire to her porch in the 400 block of Inglewood Drive and threatened to set her neighbor's trailer on fire Oct. 26. Advertisement Gardner then reportedly threw hammers and blunt objects at Fairdale Fire Department firefighters when they attempted to get the fire under control. Police said Gardner then barricaded herself inside the location and set another fire, forcing firefighters to force entry and put that fire out. Gardner then reportedly locked herself in the bathroom and had to be removed by Louisville Metro Police Department officers. She was booked into Metro Corrections on Saturday. Gardner is charged with arson and assault of a firefighter.
