A well-known mansion in Eastern Kentucky has been destroyed by a fire. Pike County officials said the Loftis Mansion was undergoing extensive renovations when contractors lost control of a burn that eventually overtook the house. Firefighters spent hours fighting the blaze, eventually evacuating a nearby McDonalds for a short time. No one was hurt throughout the incident, but the mansion is likely to be considered a total loss.
