Madisonville Fire Department rescues animals from blaze, MPD investigating

Madisonville Fire Department crews were called to extinguish a fire that broke out at a mobile home over the weekend after a caller reported the porch was burning. MFD reported calling Madisonville Police Department to investigate the cause of the blaze. According to MFD, heavy fire was showing at one side of the home off the 600 block of East Broadway Street at 8:53 p.m. Saturday. A woman had escaped from a bedroom window. Medical Center Ambulance workers treated her for cuts to her face from climbing out. Crews got to the scene within two minutes of the call to also find several animals inside the trailer, the report lists. Firefighters removed the pets from the home, while one cat was treated with oxygen at the scene.
