Madisonville Fire Department Station 1 responded to a home off Race Street 6:54 a.m. Wednesday to extinguish a vehicle on fire. Firefighters reported the engine compartment was fully involved in flames as crews arrived on scene. Officials noted heat melted nearby siding on the side of a structure, causing slight damage. Estimated fire damage was $4,500, according to the reports. Officials determined the cause of the fire was unintentional.
