A man is in custody after deputies say he purposely set his home on fire while someone was inside. The Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office says a call came in around midnight on January 3 about a house fire on Gillespie Road. After arriving on scene deputies say they determined that the homeowner, Chris Brozowsky poured accelerant in the hallway, set it on fire and left. Deputies say one person was in the home but was able to get out safely because they heard the smoke detector. He is charged with arson and attempted murder.
