A second victim has died after suffering smoke inhalation during a fire at a home off Kipling Drive in Owensboro.
Shelby Lashbrook, 82 of Owensboro, died Saturday, Owensboro Police Department reported this morning, as a result of injuries sustained Dec. 27.
State and local arson investigators were called in to collect evidence after the 1:10 a.m. blaze off the 3900 block of Kipling Drive, OPD previously reported. Both victims that were inside the home were taken to the hospital.
Police say they are continuing an arson investigation related to the incident.
