A large, likely electrical fire has destroyed a Clarkson residence.
Saturday night at approximately 11:00, the Clarkson and Leitchfield Fire Departments and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire in the 400 block of North Patterson Street.
Upon arriving, first responders found the home nearly fully engulfed in flames. For several minutes it was unclear if the female resident was inside the home, but firefighters, putting themselves in great peril, searched the interior of the residence and determined no one was inside. The woman’s two pets made it out of the structure unharmed. The fire, according to officials, appears to have started on the left side of the home, near the foundation where a gas line enters the residence and runs to a wall heater.
