A family accused of plotting to torch their own business in order to collect insurance money was indicted last week by a Greenup County grand jury.
The husband, wife, and daughter paid a man to burn down Wolfe’s Food Mart and Pool Hall in Greenup, according to court records. That man turned out to be an informant working with the Greenup Sheriff’s Office, the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, Kentucky State Police, and the FBI, records show.
Manjit K. Singh, 48, her husband Gurpreet Singh Bath, 50, and their daughter Harpeneet Kaur Bath, 27, were indicted March 19 by the Greenup County grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit second-degree arson, a class C felony.
