Every day brings a new challenge for the public with the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s also challenging for first responders, and the more information they have ahead of time the better. That’s where Smart911 comes in. “As Nelson and Washington counties prepare for and responds to the spread of the coronavirus, public health and safety officials are strongly encouraging the community to sign up for the Smart911 national safety profile registry,” said Milt Spalding, Nelson County E-911 director. “That’s why we are launching the ‘Take Control, Let Us Know,’ campaign to empower the community to take action and provide valuable and accurate health data that increases the awareness of 911, first responders, and Emergency Management to an individual’s risk level for coronavirus.”
