A Ludlow firefighter has been accused of unwanted sexual contact with a co-worker in the firehouse, according to a Ludlow police arrest report. Elijah Mays was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse Monday, March 23, according to the Ludlow report obtained from our media partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer. Mays, who started work at Ludlow Fire Department Oct. 29, 2018, has been terminated, said Mike Steward, Ludlow's chief in an email to The Enquirer. Mays was a part-time emergency medical technician (EMT) with the rank of lieutenant, according to Steward's email. The Florence resident was accused by a female coworker of disrobing and touching her inside Ludlow’s firehouse at 234 Oak St., according to the arrest report. The woman told police she told Mays "no" three or more times.
