The Mercer County Fire Protection District now has a new resource at its disposal. It’s meant to make the training process more efficient. The T-Box training facility is the newest resource of the Mercer County Fire Protection District. With it, the department can go through different training scenarios at the same time. Now that the T-box facility is complete firefighters are using it to conduct tests with controlled burns. The space will help firefighters get a better grasp of what it’s like to respond to real-life emergencies. “Having that opportunity to be able to have the facility on our premises and be able to use it when we want to and not have to plan months and months in advance allows our firefighters more opportunities to get in and see live fire and learn fire behavior and fire control in a very controlled atmosphere,” said Chief Richard Maxfield.
