Two pets die after a fire in Muhlenberg County on Saturday. Firefighters with the Greenville Fire Department and the Central City Fire Department were sent to a house fire just before 4:00 p.m. Firefighters said flames were coming from two windows when they arrived. Crews said they began attacking the fire and searching the residence for the pets. Firefighters said they battled high heat and zero visibility. Eventually, the two pets were found in a room that was not on fire, and firefighters said they attempted life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful. No one else was hurt. The American Red Cross was contacted to help the two people who lived in the home.
