VIDEO: Rapides Parish Fire District #2 Chief Randy McCain has announced his retirement. On Monday, District #2 threw a retirement party for McCain as both current and former firefighters celebrated his long career. McCain served as chief for nearly ten years. He said it's hard to walk away, but knows it's time. "I've had a long good career here at the fire department and I'm just grateful I had the opportunity," he said. "But, it's time for a change, good things sometimes come to an end, but better things can start. I don't know how I can get much better than what I've had, but I'm excited about what's coming up after this." McCain said he will work in the private sector now. The fire chief position is appointed by the police jury. Joe Glorioso is currently serving as interim chief.
