A St. Tammany firefighter quickly extinguished a car fire Thursday morning at the Ocshner Covington campus. According to the fire department, a patient arrived to the hospital and smelled smoke as they exited their car. They then saw flames under the car. An off-duty firefighter was at the hospital and grabbed a fire extinguisher to put it out. According to the fire department, both people in the car were able to exit it safely and there were no injuries. The hospital did have a brief evacuation because of the fire.
