A man was injured early Monday morning in a house fire while trying to save his dogs. The fire was reported around 6:00 a.m. on Killian Oaks Drive. Firefighters from Livingston Parish District 2 and 6 responded to the scene. A deputy with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office also assisted. Officials say the homeowner sustained burns and smoke inhalation while attempting to save his dogs, who were ultimately lost in the fire. It's unclear what caused the blaze at this time.
