A worker is in stable condition after a barge rescue near New Orleans on Thursday morning, according to the Emergency Medical Service. The New Orleans Fire Department and EMS were called out before 11 a.m. to perform a technical “rope rescue” on an empty crude oil inland barge near Patterson Dr. The patient was lifted safely out of the hole and taken to University Medical Center. EMS said the scene was clear by 12:15 p.m.
