It was a high daring rescue that could have been seen in a movie. In fact, it actually took place on a movie set.
In WDSU's special series First Responders and Health Care Heroes, the Slidell Fire Department explains how their training came to play as they assisted a man from a film crew who found himself stuck. "It was very unusual for us," said Kristoffer Remerow with the Slidell Fire Department. "I’ve never been on anything like that before."
A film crew called in an emergency when one of their workers got stuck on a lift roughly 115 in the air.
"They had the lift at an angle where it caused the lift to shut down and you couldn't override it," said Remerow.
"Not only was he straight up he was about 30 feet over some water," said Tim Dudenhefer with the Slidell Fire Department.
