10 people were displaced after their apartment building was set on fire late Tuesday, according to Baton Rouge fire investigators. Fire crews responded to an apartment building in the 900 block of Violet St. just before midnight. When firefighters arrived, officials say everyone had made it out of the building unharmed. Firefighters were able to put out the fire in the burning unit before flames could spread to other units. One unit was declared a total loss, while other units suffered water and smoke damage. Fire investigators were called to the scene and determined the fire was intentionally set. They’re asking anyone who may have information to call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867 or fire investigators at (225) 354-1419. The Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced residents.
