VIDEO: Just days before the anniversary, a team of St. Bernard Parish firefighters went back to the scene. "Does it seem like it's been a year?" Asked WDSU's Travers Mackel. "It seems like yesterday, it really does," said Chief Raul Vallecillo. But it was one year ago that a massive, EF-3 tornado set its sight on St. Bernard Parish. A crew was on standby at the firehouse. "I said it's here - it's out back and we went out to the balcony of the station and it was clear as day as soon as we opened the door, there the tornado was," said Vallecillo. "We ran outside on the balcony and could see the tornado crossing our parish." "There was reports from the sheriff's office that houses were off the foundation so we jumped in the truck and headed to the area damaged," said Chris Kimball, a firefighter in St. Bernard.
