Two occupants are getting treated after their home in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood caught fire. The blaze was one of at least two that firefighters fought within about eight hours Sunday (April 7). At 5:13 a.m., fire crews responded to a residential fire in the 200 block of Egan Street. They arrived to find a single-story home fully involved in fire. Two occupants were home at the time of the fire. Both were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It took the efforts of 27 firefighters to bring this blaze and a later fire under control. It was 1:18 p.m. when fire crews were dispatched to the 6200 block of Henderson Avenue. Heavy flames were coming from the front of the single-story residence when the first fire unit arrived on the scene. There were no occupants at the Henderson Avenue residence at the time of the fire.
