Multiple people who live around Lake Bistineau became stranded due to rising waters and had to be rescued Wednesday morning, the Webster Police Jury reports.
Among them was an elderly woman who needed assistance when water came up to her house in Doyline.
Helping get the residents to higher ground were members of Doyline Fire District 3, Minden Fire Department’s water rescue team, the Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“Roadways near Lake Bistineau that normally flood are already flooded, and the lake is rising,” the Police Jury says in a Facebook post. “... If you live in these areas, you need to move to another location until the water level drops.”
Bayou Dorcheat also continues to rise.
