Officials say Paradise Funeral Home in Jonesboro is considered a total loss following a fire.
According to Jonesboro Fire Chief Aaron Blalock, he says the department got the call around 9:15 Wednesday morning (April 10) and they were able to respond immediately.
Multiple agencies including Jackson, Winn, Bienville, and Lincoln parishes assisted in battling the blaze for over five hours.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Funeral home owner Yumeaka Washington says she is thankful for the community’s support during this difficult time.
“The community has been so supportive. Our friends, our family, our pastors, you name it, they have been here. Our first responders have worked diligently from all communities and we appreciate that,” says Washington.
