The Shreveport Fire Department had a busy morning working two separate fires on Tuesday, April 23. A mobile home was destroyed by a fire in the Forest Estates Mobile Home Park. Firefighters responded just after 12 a.m. and reported seeing heavy flames. It took less than 30 minutes to put out the fire. SFD says the building was vacant and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. SFD extinguished another fire at around 2:30 a.m. on W. College Street. Crews at the scene tell KSLA that a two-story home caught on fire and was brought under control in less than 40 minutes. Firefighters say the family that lived there was able to get out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
