VIDEO: The Westlake Fire Department received a donation from one of SWLA’s biggest employers to help keep its community safe.
Phillips 66 Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex is donating $176,000 for new equipment including new radios and defibrillators that will enhance communication and speed up response times during emergencies. Westlake Fire Chief Jonathan Duff said they have been trying to get this lifesaving equipment for a while, and having it now sets them apart from other stations.
“This is top-notch equipment. This is gonna give our guys a position to be successful, the handoff with Acadian Ambulance is gonna be seamless, and it’s going to get people to the hospital and save more lives,” Duff said.
Duff said these items can be costly, and he’s grateful for the donation.
