Baton Rouge Fire Department: Man rescued from house fire

VIDEO: The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating what caused a house fire early Friday morning, March 22. Firefighters were dispatched to N. 39th St. near Jefferson Avenue shortly after 4 a.m. According to the fire department, firefighters arrived to find the house heavily involved with fire, and live power lines on the ground arching. One crew began protecting the neighboring home from fire exposure while a second crew entered the burning home. Firefighters brought the fire under control after an aggressive fire attack, according to officials. Fire officials said they found a man in a back bedroom in the home. Paramedics treated that person on the scene for unknown injuries and took them to the hospital. Officials said the fire’s cause is undetermined and under investigation.
