The Office of the State Fire Marshal is anticipating filing charges after a garage fire Tuesday night in Union Bridge.
The blaze in the unit block of North Main Street caused approximately $80,000 in damage to the garage and surrounding vehicles, according to a notice of investigation from the fire marshal. There were no injuries as a result of the fire, which was reported by a neighbor just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The fire marshal listed the preliminary cause of the fire as incendiary, meaning investigators believe it had been set deliberately.
Roughly 40 firefighters from the Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze, and had in under control within about 45 minutes, according to the fire marshal.
