A house fire Sunday in Salisbury left an estimated $200,000 in damages, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal. The fire at 31180 Old Fruitland Road was discovered by a passerby at around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7. Twenty-five firefighters battled the blaze for 45 minutes before bringing it under control, the state fire marshal’s office said in a release. Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department was the primary agency responding, it said. It said the wood-frame single family home is owned by Ryan Parsons. The release said the fire caused an estimated $175,000 in damage to the structure and another $25,000 in damage to contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury office of the state fire marshal at 410-713-3780.
