A residential fire in Woodbine displaced a family, killed a dog and did significant damage to the house before firefighters from six companies brought it under control in a little under an hour Monday night.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal on Tuesday said one occupant of the home, located in the 7000 block of Woodbine Road in Woodbine, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to treat minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
The one-alarm fire took about 30 minutes to control, the State Fire Marshal said. One dog died in the fire, though another was rescued, officials said.
The fire began in the living room, where one of the occupants discovered it.
According to Robert Farver, public information officer for Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department, the initial service call for the fire was received at 6:02 p.m.
