One person was seriously injured after the car they were driving struck a building under construction in Towson.
Baltimore County firefighters responded to a hazmat situation near the Towson Town Center on Sunday after the car struck a gas line. Baltimore County Police and Fire received a 911 call reporting that a vehicle struck a high-pressure gas line in that area.
“It’s the heart of Towson, we have hundreds of businesses over here,” said Fire Lt. Travis Francis. Lt. Francis said BGE was also called onto the scene because of the size of the gas line- and they were able to shut off the gas temporarily.
“This was a large high-pressure gas line. In the area when this was taking place, you really couldn’t hear your own voice or talking to the person next to you, it was rushing that strong. Fortunately, the crash didn’t cause a fire.” Lt. Francis said.
