United Communities Volunteer Fire Department recognizes volunteers

United Communities Volunteer Fire Department held its annual awards banquet Saturday evening, Feb. 1, at the Kent Island American Legion, Post 278, in Stevensville, recognizing its members who provided top services for 2019. During introduction of guests by UCVFD President Ron Siarnicki, Kent Island Estates Homeowners Association President Dick Sells told the huge audience, “United Communities Volunteer Fire Department are the best neighbors we could ever have.” Sells heaped praise on the members of the fire department located in the southern end of Kent Island for their devotion and service to the community for the past 47 years. Sells was not alone in praising the work of the volunteers, as several others from the community and county spoke.
