The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a Queen Anne's County home on Tuesday. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, a neighbor reported the fire at the home at 116 Mainbrace Drive in Queenstown shortly after 1:30 p.m. Firefighters from the Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department responded, along with a tanker task force and took two hours to bring the fire under control. Damage to the split-level home and its contents is estimated to be $400,000. Investigators said the home had neither a smoke alarm or a sprinkler system. No one was injured in the blaze, which remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this fire should contact the Upper Eastern Regional Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-822-7609.
