A fire that started in the front bedroom of a vacant home is under investigation in Salisbury. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, the Salisbury University Police Department spotted the fire Wednesday shortly after 10:30 p.m at the home on Onley Road. It took firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control. Investigators say a smoke alarm was functioning at the time but no fire sprinkler system was in place. About $85,000 was done to the home and its contents. Anyone with information that might help investigators is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
