A fire that started in the front bedroom of a vacant home is under investigation in Salisbury. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, the Salisbury University Police Department spotted the fire Wednesday shortly after 10:30 p.m at the home on Onley Road. It took firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control. Investigators say a smoke alarm was functioning at the time but no fire sprinkler system was in place. About $85,000 was done to the home and its contents.
