A house fire that started in the kitchen caused major damage Tuesday in Wicomico County. The home on the 600 block of Priscilla Street in Salisbury, had two people inside the home, according to Maryland's Office of the State Fire Marshal. Investigators ruled the fire accidental and said it started in the kitchen when grease ignited a combustible material while cooking. The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage. A smoke alarm was working and did go off. There were no fire sprinklers. It took 29 firefighters approximately 45 minutes to get the blaze under control. No injuries were reported.
