The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal is searching for information about a suspicious fire that engulfed a shed on Ridge Road in Lexington Park.
The fire happened Sunday, September 13, 2020, at 5:15 pm at shed located between 20540 and 20544 Ridge Road. It took 15 firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. As you can see from the picture, the shed was destroyed. The Maryland Fire Marshal estimated the loss from the structure and contents to be about $70,000.
One person was transported to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown. However, that issue was related to an underlying medical condition.
The blaze started inside the shed.
