Firefighters and police officers responded Monday evening to a Southeast D.C. apartment building fire where three women were shot, two of whom died, according to D.C. Police.
The location of the apartment building fire is within the 2300 block of Good Hope Court, Southeast.
D.C. Police said that firefighters arrived around 7:30 p.m. and found one of the three shooting victims outside of the apartment building shot. The other two women were found inside an apartment where there was a fire, police said. There was also a 3-month-old baby that was at the shooting scene that had to be rescued by firefighters, according to D.C. Police in a statement.
The 3-month-old has been taken to a hospital in the D.C. area to be evaluated, police said.
