Allentown Road Volunteer Fire Department Chief Nick Finamore dies due to COVID-19

VIDEO: A Maryland volunteer fire chief with more than 50 years of combined career and volunteer firefighting experience died due to COVID-19 complications on Tuesday. Allentown Road Volunteer Fire Department Chief Nick Finamore was a well-known fire service leader in the Prince George's County area, and was the volunteer operations commander and a retired deputy chief at Prince George's County Fire and EMS. "Chief Finamore was considered a pioneer in the Prince George's County Fire Department, a true leader and the epitome of the perfect Fire Fighter," read a statement from the Prince George's County Professional Fire Fighters & Paramedics Association. "There was never a shortage of stories about Chief Finamore and his love for the job. This is a loss that many will mourn while they reflect on the mark that he left on the Prince George's County Fire Department."
