VIDEO/PHOTO: A fire on the fifth floor of an 8-story senior living apartment building in Rockville injured two people and displaced four on Friday evening. Crews responded to calls of smoke on the fifth and sixth floors of Bethany House Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter. Several of the residents needed assistance from firefighters to get out of the building and the fire was contained, Piringer said. Rescue crews determined the fire was caused when a piece of paper that was used to light a candle was put in a wicker trash can and caught fire on the couch in the living room. The damage was estimated at $35,000.
