A 2-alarm fire in Dundalk sent five people to the hospital with serious injuries early Tuesday morning. According to officials, firefighters arrived to the 1800 block of Church Road for a dwelling fire around 12:30 a.m. Firefighters assisted several people from the homes. The fire sent five residents, four adults and a child, to the hospital suffering from serious injuries. All patients were transported due to smoke inhalation and are expected to survive. Investigators determined the fire began on the rear deck and spread quickly eventually two two other homes. A shed and four cars parked in the back yards were also affected by the fire and it was placed under control around 1:15 a.m. The investigation of the cause of the fire is ongoing.
