Maryland State Fire Marshal Brian S. Geraci on Wednesday announced Jason M. Mowbray as the organization's new chief deputy. The selection of new leadership for the agency comes after the former chief, Gregory Der, was appointed as the Howard County Police Chief in December.
Jason M. Mowbray, who is being promoted from within, will assume the duties of chief deputy state fire marshal on May 18. The role of chief deputy state fire marshal is a Field Operations Division management function involving the supervision and coordination of the agencies' law enforcement activities in the field of fire prevention, fire safety inspections, fire investigations, and explosives control.
