PHOTOS: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews battled a late Tuesday night brush fire in Montgomery Village. This comes as the National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch in the DMV area until 8 p.m. Wednesday. This means gusty winds and low humidity present an elevated risk for wildfire spread. The brush fire involving 1.5 acres occurred in the rear of the 19500 block of Tiber Court near WayRidge Drive, Pete Piringer with the MCFRS said. Piringer said the small brush fire got larger but remained isolated to the woodland. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in a limited access area utilizing floating pumps and water from Great Seneca Creek. It's not clear if any injuries were reported.
