The hot, humid weather created challenges for firefighters Sunday as they battled a fire in Arundel. Crews were called to 204 Campground Road at about 4:20 p.m. and found heavy fire coming from several sides of the building when they arrived. Firefighters were able to get most of the fire knocked down quickly but continued to deal with some stubborn areas due to the amount of stuff being stored inside. As crews continued to chase fire and deal with the weather, a second alarm was called to bring more resources to the scene. Four people who lived in the home were checked by ambulance crews. Two people ended up going to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. They were later released. The cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday morning.
