A home in Owls Head remains standing, Wednesday, thanks to a passerby who reported seeing flames near the base of the structure. At approximately 7:40 a.m., Jan. 6, Owls Head, Warren, Rockland, and South Thomaston fire departments responded to the single-story dwelling at 163 South Shore Drive. As onsite firefighters attacked the blaze, vented the walls, and searched for hot spots, Warren fire personnel shuttled water from a hydrant at the corner of Ash Point Drive and North Shore Drive. The fire was extinguished within an hour.
