Lincoln firefighters save two from burning home

PHOTO: Firefighters in Chester helped save two elderly residents from their burning home. Crews were called to Woodville Road around 8 Saturday night, according to the Lincoln Fire Department. They arrived at a fully engulfed home and news that the two elderly occupants were unaccounted for. As crews walked around the house, they found the two residents trying to escape the fiery structure. One firefighter was able to get onto the back porch and bring the occupants to another firefighter nearby. One of the victims collapsed in the driveway, according to Lincoln fire. They were taken to a waiting ambulance along with the other resident. Both were treated for smoke inhalation and were in stable condition at last report. The fire is not considered suspicious. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating a cause.
