A fire in Waterville destroyed an outbuilding that was under repair. A local contractor doing the work lost thousands of dollars worth of tools. According to the Morning Sentinel, the fire broke out about 25 feet from a home on Louise Avenue around 9:30 Tuesday night. The paper reports the contractor had been working at the property after both the outbuilding and home were damaged by a fallen tree during a recent storm. The fire reportedly started after workers had left for the day. No one was hurt, but everything in the building was destroyed. Fire officials do not believe the fire is suspicious. The cause has been listed as underdetermined due to the extent of the damage.
