PHOTO: A home in Byron burned to the ground after a morning fire on Wednesday. The Mexico and Roxbury fire departments were dispatched around 7:19 a.m. to the home in the area of Dingle Hill Road and Foss Lane in the town of Byron, for a report of an overnight fire. A neighbor had reported that they woke up to the next door residence burned to the ground and that the family that lives there was unaccounted for. While crews were en route to the scene, contact was made with one of the residents of the home, who was safely in town at the time of the fire. All other parties were also accounted for. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. The Mexico Fire Department says Rumford Fire handled a reported vehicle fire on Route 2 while crews dealt with the fire in Byron.
