Homeowners on the Eastern Road in Warren who were forced to rebuild their front walls after a pickup truck crashed into the house 13 months ago are now dealing with fire damage to the rear of the same dwelling. An investigator from the Fire Marshal’s Office arrived at 1406 Eastern Road after firefighters from Warren, Waldoboro, and Union responded to pager alerts of the fire at 5:18 p.m. Sunday. For a couple of hours, responders worked to knock down flames at the rear, as well as ventilate smoke throughout the two-story structure, creating holes in the roof and then disposing of insulation. Waldoboro and Union firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 9 p.m., and all remaining Warren units cleared at 9:37 p.m. This fire came on a day when several other possible structure fires were reported in the area.
