After 50 years with the Norway Fire Department, former Fire Chief Dennis Yates is retiring.
Yates started his career with the department in 1974. According to the Norway Fire Department, when Yates resigned as fire chief, he wanted to make it 50 years with the department.
In a letter to the department, Yates wrote it has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Norway.
A post from the department's Facebook writes: "Chief Yates has reached his goal and now wants time to enjoy life while he can."
